Media keys, Control Center, column auto-fit, and Inspector updates

• Media keys, Control Center, and playback shortcuts. Press Option-Space or Option-Command-Left and Right to play, pause, or skip tracks from any screen in ARADAR. Your keyboard media keys and macOS Control Center also show and control the current track.
• Auto-fit columns. Double-click the Artwork column header in Library or My Tracks to fit all visible columns proportionally into the window.
• Consistent Labels and Submissions Inspectors. Edited fields in the Label and Submission Inspectors wait for Save or Discard, while notes, ratings, and links save as you type.
• First-run import and missing-files confirmation. Choosing a folder on an empty library imports your tracks right away. Removing missing files from the Library banner asks for confirmation first, and the analysis queue pauses with a clear notice if your disk runs out of space.

Loop modes, shuffle, Camelot filter, and in-place re-bounces

• Loop modes and shuffle. The Loop button in the player bar steps through a section, one track, and the playing list. Shuffle sits next to Loop and mixes the playing list when loop is off or set to the whole list.
• Camelot filter and column. More Filters narrows Library and My Tracks by Camelot code. You can also show the Camelot column next to Key from the table header menu.
• Update re-bounces in place. Importing a new bounce at the same file path refreshes the audio analysis and keeps your rating, notes, and Inspector fields.
• Moved and missing files. ARADAR follows moved files that still open and updates their path without offering duplicate imports. When a missing file cannot play, the Inspector offers Locate file and Remove from library. Next and Previous stay active so you can step to adjacent tracks.
• Import labels from the toolbar. The CSV Import button for labels now sits next to Export in the Labels toolbar.
• Cleaner empty library and Inspector. The filter bar stays out of the way until you import your first tracks, and the frequency reference picker is easier to read.

Watched folders, loudness matching, and a first-run screen

• Watched folders. Settings → General → Watched Folders remembers a folder and scans it when ARADAR starts, after you add it, and when you press Find new next to Import or choose File → Find New Files (⇧⌘R). New files wait in the import window until you press Import or Later. Your files stay where they are.
• First-run screen. On first launch, ARADAR asks for a music folder and sets short-file skipping, loudness matching, and folder watching in one place.
• Match loudness on playback. Settings → Playback turns down tracks louder than a target of −12, −14, −16, or −18 LUFS, or a custom number. Quieter tracks play as they are, and the audio file is never changed. The player bar shows the cut next to LUFS. Off by default.
• Short files. Skip files shorter than 60 seconds, 30 seconds, or import everything. Set it in Settings → General, under Import.
• Duration filter. More Filters has Duration: Under 1:00, 1:00–3:00, 3:00–5:00, 5:00–7:00, and 7:00+.
• Camelot code. The player bar and the Inspector show the Camelot code next to the key.
• Jump to the playing track. Click the title in the player bar to select that track and bring its row into view.
• Export statistics as PDF. The Statistics window writes a summary with totals, top lists, quality averages, distributions, action items, and submissions.
• Playlist menu. The menu above the track list reads Playlist: All Tracks, so it is clear it is the playlist menu.
• Reset Library. Reset Library also clears watched folders and returns short-file skipping to 60 seconds.

Inspector sections, tag cleanup, and Settings sidebar

• Inspector sections. Audio Analysis, Frequency Profile, My notes, and File details (with file size) are separate sections. Save and Discard apply only to the metadata fields, so accidental edits are not saved until you click Save.
• Notes and links save as you go. Your notes and track links save automatically as you type.
• Delete a tag everywhere. Settings → Tags removes a tag from every track at once. The × on a chip still removes it from a single track.
• Filters wrap. Library and My Tracks filter chips wrap to a second line when the window is narrow.
• Settings sidebar. Settings uses a clean sidebar layout instead of a single long list.
• Analyze Audio. The button reads Analyze Audio until a track is analyzed, then Re-analyze Audio.

Remixers, trash, export, and track links

• Remixers. The Artist field stays the original. Remixers is a separate field – often two names. The Artist filter matches either, so you can find originals and the remixes they made.
• Empty BPM. If a track has no BPM after import, analysis fills a whole number from the audio. BPM already on the track is left alone. Key still comes from the file or the Inspector.
• Remove is undoable. Remove from Library hides the track in Recently Deleted, where you can restore it anytime. Empty Trash in Settings → Data is the only permanent delete. Files on disk are never deleted.
• Export. On each tab, Export writes the list you see. File → Export… and Settings → Data write the full set. When filters or search are active, the suggested filename includes filtered.
• Track links. In the Inspector, under Tags, paste SoundCloud, Spotify, Bandcamp, Beatport, YouTube, Apple Music, or any URL. Search Track looks up artist and title in your browser. ARADAR never fills these for you.
• Filter bar. Genre, Artist, Note, Label, Origin, and Rating sit on the bar. BPM, LUFS, and the rest live under More Filters.
• Playing row. The track that’s playing uses accent text so you can find it in the list. Click the title in the player bar to jump to it in the Library.
• Mix Type and tags. Mix Type is editable in the Inspector with suggestions. Tags suggest names you already use.

Section loop and Never played filter

• Section loop. Press Loop next to the waveform to repeat a stretch of the track – drag the handles to place the start and end. Turn Loop off and the markers stay faintly for that track until you quit; changing tracks turns Loop off.
• Never played / Played. Under More Filters → Played, find tracks you have not listened to yet, or only ones you have. A green mark appears next to the title after about 12 seconds of listening.
• Smoother scrolling in My Tracks. Large collections in My Tracks scroll just as smoothly as the main Library.

Listen checks: band solo, mono, side, phone

• Band solo. Six hardware-style buttons in the player bar solo frequency ranges of the playing track – press 0–80 to hear just the sub, 5k–20k for the air. Combine several bands at once, or edit the frequency ranges in Settings → Playback.
• Channel checks. MONO folds the mix down (club/PA check), SIDE plays only the stereo content, and PHONE simulates a small speaker (mono + band-limit, range editable). Combine them freely with band solos.
• Checks stay active across tracks. A pressed check stays on while you A/B your track against a reference, and resets on relaunch. Playback is filtered live – audio files are never modified.
• Playback menu. Previous/Next Track and all nine checks also live in the Playback menu with live state.

Inspector autocomplete, artwork editing, and player layout

• Metadata autocomplete. Label, Genre, Year, BPM, and Key fields in the Inspector suggest values from your library as you type – handy for WAV imports with empty tags.
• Artwork editing. Set or replace thumbnails via file picker, drag-and-drop, or paste – stored in ARADAR, leaving your original audio files untouched.
• Player bar layout. Three-column player bar with BPM, Key, LUFS, and Duration readouts above a taller waveform scrubber.

Waveform scrubber and batch metadata editing

• Waveform scrubber. Hover the player bar for a time preview and drag to seek along the waveform.
• Batch metadata editing. Select two or more tracks to update their artist, label, genre, year, or tags all at once.
• Demo links in the Inspector. Save the private preview link you sent with a submission so you can open it again in one click.

Labels refresh and resizable Inspector

• Labels view redesigned. Organize labels with categories, separate contact fields, genre tags, and clean links.
• Resizable Inspector. Drag the Inspector wider or narrower and ARADAR remembers your layout. Help and Settings now sit in the top toolbar.
• Submission status from dates. Submission status updates automatically as you enter your sent and reply dates, with a new Rejected toggle.

Compare to any label

• Click any label in your matches. Click a label row in Label Matches to overlay its frequency curve directly on the chart above your track.
• Compare multiple labels at once. Select 2–10 labels in the Labels tab, right-click → Compare Frequency Profiles, and view their curves on a single chart.
• More reliable external drives. Analysis recovers cleanly if an external drive disconnects or slows down, and tracks stay ready to play after your Mac wakes from sleep.

A&R Tracker and System (Dark) theme

• A&R Tools renamed to A&R Tracker. Same submission workflow with a clearer name for tracking labels, demo sends, and replies.
• System (Dark) theme. Joins System (Light) alongside Nocturne, Pulse, Velvet, and Open Air so you can match macOS Dark Mode or pick a custom studio palette.
• UI refinements. Small layout and readability improvements across the app.

Startup and reliability improvements

• In-app website links. Help, About, and legal links inside the app now open the matching pages on aradar.app – Help & FAQ, Release Notes, Feedback, Terms, and Privacy.

Initial release

The first public release of ARADAR – the music player for producers on macOS.

• Music player and library. Drag folders from anywhere on your Mac into one library. Filter by key, BPM, loudness, label, and genre, rate tracks, add tags and notes, and drag any track straight into your DAW.
• Loudness and frequency analysis. Measures integrated LUFS, loudness range, true peak, RMS, crest factor, and a 10-band frequency curve on import. Re-analyze any track on demand when you bounce a new master.
• Label profiles and custom curves. Build a frequency profile and ±1σ corridor from any label’s releases in your library or from any group of tracks you select. Overlay your track to see how your tone, loudness, and tempo compare.
• Multi-track comparison. Overlay up to 10 tracks on the same frequency chart to compare your mix against references side by side.
• Submission tracker. Log every demo you send to a label with dates, private links, responses, and notes.
• Library statistics. View averages, top lists, and distributions across your collection, and spot tracks with missing metadata.
• Themes. Choose from dark, light, and system themes calibrated for long studio sessions.
• Automatic updates. Updates download and install directly inside the app.
• Local and private. Your library, audio files, and label profiles stay on your Mac – no account and no cloud uploads.
